Venus Viva™ is an RF microneedling treatment that uses NanoFractional Radio Frequency™ (RF) and SmartScan™ technology for superior results. Venus Viva™ is a great solution for deep wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, uneven skin texture, and hyperpigmentation.
Before your procedure, you should stop using skin products with retinol or glycolic acid for 5 days before your procedure. Similarly, avoid anti-inflammatory drugs and anticoagulant supplements like Advil, vitamin E, and gingko biloba.
Venus Viva™ treatments take about 45 minutes and most patients do not feel any discomfort. First, a numbing cream will be applied to the skin and then the microneedling applicator will be moved across your skin. This applicator uses tiny needles to create small punctures and microchannels on the skin’s surface. These small needles safely deliver heat into the dermal layers of the skin while treating the skin’s surface to effectively target severe facial wrinkles and surface imperfections.
For the first 48 hours after treatment, you should avoid direct sun exposure and other sources of heat like saunas and heavy workouts. Continue to skip the use of retinol, glycolic acid, and vitamin C for 10 days. Microcrusting is common for the first week after Venus Viva™ treatment and mild swelling and redness are also common.
Your skin will continue to improve over the next 3 months, and you will gradually see brighter, smoother, and firmer skin after each treatment session. Three treatments scheduled 3-4 weeks apart are recommended and after this series of treatments, you may want to consider maintenance treatments 2-4 times a year.
